Tattoo Q & A

Where are you located?

_I tattoo out of a private studio in East Vancouver, BC. All visits are by appointment only. The studio’s location is given only after I have okayed your tattoo concept and have received a tattoo deposit from you.

How do I book an appointment?

_For all tattoo inquiries, please email shewolftattooapothecary@gmail.com. I will try to answer your email in a timely manner. Not all tattoo concepts are taken on (that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with what you want), but if I confirm interest in your idea then the next step is to send a deposit via E-transfer. Please wait for confirmation before sending a deposit. All tattoo consultations are through email and you may feel free to send me any inspirational imagery you have! ***You MUST BE 18+ years of age to apply for a tattoo.****

What does the deposit get me and is it refundable?

_All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. Your deposit buys you a tattoo appointment booking and a design. You are allowed to alter the design if it isn’t quite to your liking (within reason), but anything major will require an additional fee. If you need to reschedule your tattoo appointment before the week of, I should be able to accommodate. Anything closer to the date of the original appointment will require a fee to reschedule. (This of course does not include rescheduling due to medical emergency or injury). Last minute cancellations on large scale pieces, such as sleeves and full back, will asked to be compensated a fee of $250 to pay for the day.

Is there any subject you won’t tattoo?

_I specialize in witchy, detailed black and grey tattoo work. I almost never work in colour, but you can always check in with me. I will not tattoo full colour pieces, water-colour style, cartoons, “tribal style”, designs that are the cultural property of Indigenous Peoples, script and racist tattoos.

Do you tattoo white ink-only pieces?

_I’m willing to try it, however I recommend a test run to see how well white ink heals on your body. I also do not claim responsibility if the white ink tattoo disappears over time.

How long will it take for my tattoo to heal?

_Most tattoos take anywhere from 10 days to 3 weeks to heal (with the average being 14 days). During that time it is recommended that you keep your tattoo clean and very LIGHTLY moisturized. Showering is okay, but do not soak in a tub. Stay out of the sun, no swimming and away from dust and animals for the first 10 days. Do not scratch or pick at your healing tattoo. Do not let other people touch your healing tattoo, you must treat it like a wound in the first 2 weeks. On the 7th-9th day, sometimes your tattoo will look a little unattractive, but this is just the dead skin coming off the body to make way for new skin.

Do you tattoo hands?

_YES! I love tattooing hands, but it does take a bit of time and patience. You may have to come back for a second sitting.

Is there a body part you won’t tattoo?

_At the moment, I am not tattooing throats, in the mouth, eyelids or genitalia.

Do you tattoo darker skinned clients? I have deeper skin tone, will that effect my tattoo?

_I absolutely tattoo folks with deeper skin tones! I really don’t think it matters what hue of skin you have and I can adjust the design accordingly. It’s a fact that some people take tattoo ink better than others, but it has multiple factors that do NOT include the deepness of skin tone.

Does getting a tattoo hurt?

_It should only hurt a little. I have a gentle hand but depending on the body part and the length of time we are working on you, you might feel a bit of discomfort. We can take breaks if you need.

How long will it take and how much will I pay?

_All of my tattoos are highly detailed, and while I try to go as fast as possible, you should plan to sit for the duration of what the design requires. An approximate guesstimate for time is: 1 fist width worth of tattoo = at least 1 hour of work. Please be prepared to pay for the service rendered. I accept cash, credit, debit and E-transfer. Discounted tattooing rates and tax-free options are available for Indigenous people.

Do you have any tattoo flash I can choose from?

_All SheWolf Tattoo flash can be found on Patreon, in the Broom Coven. I try to put out a monthly flash sheet and October in the Coven is usually filled with goodies!
